INTUITIVE EATING: DISCOVER YOUR EATING WISDOM

We all eat. Unfortunately, many of us fret and worry about how we eat. We look for guidance. But this guidance often undermines our ability to manage our food. We blame ourselves. But it’s not our fault, traditional approaches to eating and weight have psychological and physical consequences that make it more difficult to manage food intake.

Intuitive Eating is an alternative framework of eating that will transform your relationship with food and your body. It rejects diet culture and helps you relearn how to listen to and trust internal cues of hunger, fullness, and satisfaction. In this presentation, you will be introduced to why traditional approaches backfire and what to do about it -- how to use your innate eating wisdom to successfully guide you're eating and feel a sense of peace around food and your body.

Dr. Karin Kratina is a nationally recognized nutrition therapist who is known for her groundbreaking work with intuitive eating and eating disorders. She co-authored the first professional book on intuitive eating, Moving Away from Diets (1996, 2003), and has authored multiple book chapters including “Treatment of Eating Disorders” in the Handbook of Medical Nutrition Therapy: The Florida Diet Manual. She founded her private practice in Gainesville in 2003.

But things were not always so good. In fact, a degree in nutrition and Masters in exercise physiology did nothing to fix her eating problems. It was not until she turned her back on that education and developed an entirely new approach to eating and weight management that she was able to end the food craziness. Now Karin's passion is to help others break free of eating issues and discover a sense of peace and freedom with eating. She helps clients discover their “eating wisdom,” and develop a natural eating style that is enjoyable and easy to live with so they can successfully manage food and weight.

NAVIGATING YOUR INNER GPS: Understanding the Core Motivations of the Enneagram

In this talk, we'll explore how the Enneagram reveals our internal motivations, acting like a personal GPS to guide us through life. Just as a GPS relies on coordinates to map out the best route, each of the nine Enneagram types is driven by core motivations that shape their desires, fears, weaknesses and longings. These motivations serve as the underlying coordinates that influence how we navigate challenges and pursue fulfillment. By understanding our type’s "coordinates," we can recalibrate when off course, moving towards personal growth and alignment with our healthiest self as we improve our relationships both personally and professionally.

Dina Smith is an Enneagram-Informed Mental Health Professional and Certified Coach who believes clarity is power—and the Enneagram is the GPS that gets you there. She helps high-achieving women—especially those balancing motherhood, leadership, and personal ambition—get back in the driver’s seat of their lives. With a blend of mental health expertise and coaching strategies, Dana has developed a straightforward approach, working jointly with her clients, to identify their unique enneagram "type", the patterns keeping them stuck. She is passionate about working with them to plot a course though their challenges, ultimately getting them to where they need to be—fulfilled, balanced, and unapologetically themselves.
