February Monthly Meeting - Aging Gracefully with Julie Roca

Please join us on Wednesday, February 21st from 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM at the Sweetwater Branch Inn for our monthly meeting.

AGING GRACEFULLY

We are all aging. As professionals, we need to be conscious of where we are in our aging process. We may be raising children, we may be also taking care of aging and caregiving for other family members. Some of the topics Julie will discuss with us are:

1. How to be prepared at any age.
2. When to start having conversations with parents and other aging loved ones.
3. As business owners and influencers in our companies, being conscious and aware of other caregivers as it pertains to the number of hours that they may need to be putting in and the hardships that they face. 

Julie Roca is a long-time resident of the lovely Alachua County who is passionate about our senior community. As the daughter of a pastor, she began working with seniors as a teenager and has not looked back. She has spent the last several years working with organizations such as the Alzheimer’s Association, various Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing Facilities along with local Home Health and Hospice.  It is her goal to help seniors to live their best life and to make a difference in the fight against Alzheimer’s. She does that currently by subcontracting as a Senior Solutions Specialist with Next Steps Senior Solutions and as a Content Creator of a podcast Aging Gracefully with Julie Roca found on YouTube and other podcast platforms.

She is a wife and a mother to a blended and beautiful family of five mostly grown children and two dogs and a cat (who think that they are children). In her spare time she can be found at her piano, on a kayak paddling the river, or hiking one of our gorgeous local trails.
