Stepping Stones to Confidence in Public Speaking

Wendy Martin competed in her first scholarship pageant as a high school student in 2008, and has remained involved in pageants as a judge, producer, and most recently, director. Her latest endeavor is to take the helm of the Louisiana's National Teenager Scholarship Pageant, and is dedicated to using her education and personal strengths to empower women of all ages to increase their confidence in leadership endeavors.

She graduated with her bachelor's degree in Human Resource Education and Workforce Development from Louisiana State University, simultaneously commissioning into Active Duty as an Aviation Officer.  Her next stop was Fort Rucker, Alabama, where she realized her dream of becoming a Blackhawk Helicopter pilot. After flight school, she spent the rest of her Army contract at Fort Carson, Colorado, where she founded a nonprofit and completed her master's degree in Transformational Leadership. Dedicated to reducing plastic waste in the United States, she continues to run her nonprofit on a national scale, and works part time at Life Unplastic, a zero waste shop and refillery in Gainesville.

Meeting Registration and Cancellation Policy: To be eligible for a meeting refund, you must cancel your reservation by 11:59pm on the Thursday the week before the meeting.  The registration cancellation must be submitted online or emailed to the Registrar by the deadline.
